Robert Bruce joined the Law Office of James A. Rivera after 20 years of experience in human rights, economic development and public defense. For the last decade he has represented thousands of Spanish, Arabic and English speaking clients charged with criminal offenses and, after joining the Law Office of James Rivera, those seeking immigration relief. He is a fierce advocate for his clients from the police investigation stage through to trial and appeals. He possesses extensive experience in case management, forensic evidentiary issues, trial practice, and client advocacy, and can readily call upon a network of experts to assist in areas of specialized needs.
Robert graduated cum laude in 2006 from the George Mason University Antonin Scalia School of Law. He received advanced Arabic Language training at the Fajr Center and the American University of Cairo, Egypt. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and International Relations from Georgetown University. He is foreign service-level certified in Spanish and Arabic.
As a long time resident of the area, Mr. Rivera opened the Law Office of James A. Rivera to serve local individuals who may not otherwise be able to hire an attorney. Mr. Rivera has defended hundreds of criminal and traffic cases in Loudoun County, Fairfax County, Prince William County, Arlington County. He represents those who are charged with anything from a Class 1 felony to a Class 4 misdemeanor. Mr. Rivera also has experience with representing clients before Federal Immigration Courts in Arlington, Baltimore, and York, Pennsylvania. He has successfully obtained immigration bonds and reopened deportation orders for many clients.
Mr. Rivera received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in Baltimore, Maryland. While attending law school, Mr. Rivera was an active member of the Civil Advocacy Clinic where he represented low-income individuals and was able to sharpen his advocacy skills.
Mr. Rivera is a member of the Virginia state bar.
Shayan Noor joined Liberty Legal Group after serving in public defense and completing a fellowship as a criminal prosecutor. A devoted trial attorney, Shayan has had excellent results defending clients at all stages of their proceedings including cases such as homicides and major sex crimes. Shayan obtained his Juris Doctor from The Pennsylvania State University Law School in 2015 after completing a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010. During his education, he focused on pursuing a career in criminal law, completing multiple internships in criminal defense and prosecution.
